There are some decent shows from the spring tour (Hampton, Philly and New Haven), but I typically edit out what I dont like and burn 1 80 minute disk. This show is worthy of 2 disks and is my favorite of the year. I like it better than 10-12-84. Interestingly enough Jerry played so well in JGB in 1984, especially the run of shows in August but by fall the GD shows were more miss than hit.

I went to a bunch of these shows. No real chances being taken on the jams, except Mickey and the Beam/Planet Drum stuff and a Garcia with vocals that sound harsh, old before his time, missing lyrics to even simple songs. Phil notices and tries to fill in, as does Brent who always worshipped Jerry...

I agree. Perhaps there are a few exceptions like the 17 minute Uncle John's on 4-23 and of course Dark Star on 7-13 but you do get a lot of Dew's and Scarlet-Fires.
